If you’re a fan of classic TV cop shows or vintage Mopar muscle, this unique 1969 Plymouth Satellite is a nostalgic head-turner with a twist. Heavily modified in the style of the black-and-white patrol cars featured on the television show Adam-12, this four-door sedan blends Hollywood flair with legitimate performance upgrades.
Originally finished in Spanish Gold Metallic (Y4) from the factory, this Satellite has been transformed with a two-tone black-and-white police livery complete with “City of Los Angeles Police” graphics on the front doors. Chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, reverse lights, and roof-mounted lights and siren finish the look. Slotted 15″ steel wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires complete the vintage cop car vibe.
Under the hood, however, is where things get serious. The original 318ci two-barrel V8 is long gone, replaced by a remanufactured BluePrint Engines 408ci small-block crate engine. This powerhouse features a Demon carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, tubular headers, an aluminum radiator, and a Road Runner horn for extra flair. With dyno-tested outputs of 467 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, it’s far from a show prop—it’s a real performer. A three-speed automatic transmission with a finned pan sends power to the rear wheels.
Inside, the theme continues with black vinyl upholstery, floor coverings, and bench seats. A Motorola Mocom-70 police radio sits under the dash, surrounded by AutoMeter auxiliary gauges, a column-mounted tachometer, and a factory-style speedometer rated to 120 mph. Power steering and power front disc brakes make driving this cruiser as manageable as it is dramatic.
This car has reportedly spent time in Washington state before being acquired by the current owner in the early 2000s. Now located in Maryland, it’s offered for sale complete with an Adam-12 memorabilia package, a broadcast sheet, service records, original manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, and a car cover. The Utah title lists the vehicle as a Belvedere, though the fender tag confirms its Satellite identity.
Whether you’re a Mopar enthusiast, a fan of vintage TV, or someone looking to stand out at car shows, this one-of-a-kind 1969 Plymouth Satellite “Adam-12” tribute offers the perfect combination of nostalgia, presence, and serious performance.
