This 1993 Ford Mustang was purchased by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) with the Special Service Package and went in to service on March 18, 1993. The Mustang served with the MSHP until January 10, 1995.
The Mustang is 1 of 25 the MSHP ordered for 1993 and 1 of 6 that were ordered in silver. 1 of 3 of those silver Mustangs came with Ruby Red interior.
The Mustang was assigned to Sgt. Larry Varner serving out of Troop F (no, not the F-Troop sitcom from the 1960’s) Jefferson City, Zone 7 working Cooper and Howard counties.
The Mustang was assigned license plate 666-HP which actually shocks me a little. When I was a State Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol they didn’t assign ‘666’ to any vehicles. Call it bad luck or maybe just the sign of the devil.
The Mustang was purchased from the MSHP for $9,000 by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department who used the Mustang for 2-years.
The Mustang was sold to a private individual and was eventually restored to its in-service condition on July 13, 2017.
